Welcome to my website. My name is Maria, and I’m a Christian writer whose works include a published novel and stories. Most of these pages pertain to the novel, but one is a journal, where you’ll find fiction, poetry, passages from my books, thoughts, and prayers.

About my novel:

The Queen and the Handyman is a mixture of women’s fiction, high fantasy, and supernatural thriller. The story takes place in a tiny, troubled, 17th century kingdom, bordered by greedy neighbors and formidable wilds. Marta (the Queen) and Trimble (her palace handyman) trek into the wilds in winter, trying to locate her father, the King. The King…how to describe him? He could never stay home for long and was constantly embarking on quests – pet projects fueled by hunger for adventure. Marta is somewhat like him, so that her story and Trimble’s essentially becomes a misadventure. In it, you’ll find action, mystery, romance, characters that may seem like people you know, humor, fairytale creatures, and a villain worthy of the name. Read it and find out what happens to this ingénue and rough-and-ready old-timer, when they lay everything on the line for the King in a confrontation with the powerful Drugen…

Now that you have some idea of the story, let me add that writing a synopsis (short or long) is difficult. Just imagine this writer in her ‘easy chair’ with crumpled and discarded efforts on the floor all around it. Writing one is like cramming your heart  into a thimble. For a better idea of the book, read a passage from it…

  4. Maria: I must say my preference is history. However, having had an opportunity to read your novel, please know that I enjoyed it very much. Written for Christian women, I found the numerous male characters to be very interesting. The good, the very bad and the ugly. I can firmly recommend your book to men. Your varied male characters cover a wide spectrum. Thank you.
